Tips For Beating The Hangover Binge

Posted on

It’s Saturday, you’ve just got out of bed and you have a hangover. You know you need something to eat. You’re not hungry, you just need food. In most cases, a chicken salad just isn’t going to cut it. Ideally, you have a burger, fries and a shake.

But can you feed the hangover without totally destroying your weekly calorie intake?

Let’s have a look.

All the information was taken from the restaurant’s nutritional info page. We will provide all the links at the bottom of the post.

The definitely no list

This is by no means a definitive list. Most restaurants have high-calorie options. These are just a few examples. But you can easily see that this list will not be kind to you fat loss goals.

Average calories 1546 – (highest calorie items from each restaurant)

A 75kg person would have to walk at a speed or 5.5kph for 5 hours to burn that off. (1)

So, What can you do?

We already know a salad just isn’t going to cut it, because that won’t suppress the oncoming hangover.

Let us have a look at better options.

The Better List

This list is a little better. It shows you can still pick some of your favourite foods but with much lower calories. The skinny pizza is 832 calories, compared to the high-calorie list which comes in at 2546 calories.

Average calories 449 – (highest calorie items from each restaurant)

A 75kg person would have to walk at a speed or 5.5kph for 1.5 hours to burn that off.(1)

Therefore high-calorie average 1546  v  lower calorie average 449.

Conclusion 1097 calorie difference.
